Build your own safe cracker for $150
Interesting build, the authors built a safe cracker that basically brute forces the safe by running thru a bunch of combinations. My 2 cents, would be good to add a feedback loop into it so it could hear the “click” … Continue reading
Simple write-up on automating haloween decorations with arduino
Pretty simple write-up where the author basically replaces the button on a haloween prop with a pinout from the arduino, and uses the arduino to trigger the prop to work. This would be a good tutorial for kids. http://makezine.com/projects/arduino-controlled-halloween-props/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=%24%7Bfeed%7D&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+%24%7Bmakezineonline%7D+%28%24%7BMAKE%7D%29&utm_content=%24%7BGoogleReader%7D

A brushless motor controller for arduino (shield)
The author build and published the PCB design for a brushless motor controller for arduino. This could be useful for higher end brushless motors found in R/C cars…or maybe robotics too. http://hackaday.com/2014/10/08/brushless-motor-controller-shield-for-arduino/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29 https://github.com/Neuromancer2701/BLDC_ros_controller
One fancy home automation setup with RPi and arduinos
This is one fancy setup for home automation that the author built. Its a little light on the details but you get the general gist from the write-up. http://www.instructables.com/id/Uber-Home-Automation/?ALLSTEPS

Nice LED setup for your house
OK if I ever have this many LEDs, I have problems (or a windfall in money). Anyways, nice build on controlling and lighting up your house with RGB “Digital” LED’s. The author makes many points about getting the right LED … Continue reading
Nice simple RFID reader for security doors
The author build a $3 arduino board, and uses that Parallax RFID reader (about $40) and some relays to add RFID to a door to unlock it. Nice build, code could be a bit cleaner thought. http://theifdark.blogspot.ca/2014/07/arduino-rfid-card-door-lock-system-100.html
PWM for Arduino Due
Nice write-up on a better Pulse Width Modulator for the Arduino Due (the ARM based one). Which is much faster and cleaner than running on original arduino. http://www.kerrywong.com/2014/09/21/on-arduino-due-pwm-frequency/

Convert a cheap motor deadbolt into a wireless lock
Ironically I did something similar to this with the lightblue bean (I was a kickstarter sponsor for it too). But…differences, my security isn’t as good. I did not replace the electronics and hog-pogged the motor controller. Oh and I didn’t … Continue reading
Make a portable Tachometer with an ardiuno
Nice build, worth doing if you are playing with motors and need to figure out how fast they are spinning. http://www.instructables.com/id/Measure-RPM-DIY-Portable-Digital-Tachometer/
Arduino Solar powered weather station
Nice build, 2 arduinos (one on the weather station, another on the receiver end of a wireless RF to display data). This could be expanded too for other systems to use, and as one commentor added, other weather stuff added … Continue reading
