A paintball gun on a quadcopter
Cat’s and dogs (and annoying kids) watch out. http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/diy/paintball-gun-on-quadrotor-but-dont-panic?utm_source=feedburner-robotics&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+IeeeSpectrumRobotics+%28IEEE+Spectrum%3A+Robotics+Erico+Feed%29#disqus_thread

Use a TP-Link as a camera broadcaster
OK something else to add to my list. Why would this be useful, think cheap wireless camera. I have some good cameras that would be nice to “network” them. And TP-link are cheap. http://forums.openpilot.org/blog/52/entry-91-tp-link-wr703n-as-telemetry-link-and-camera-broadcasting-part3-video/ http://dangerousprototypes.com/2012/12/13/tp-link-wr703n-as-telemetry-link-and-camera-broadcasting-tutorial/

Portable CNC Mill
This article has been making allot of rounds within the hobby/DIY communities. Basically its a cheap mill, converted to CNC use, then put into a box with a display mounted to the cover of the box. Looks nice. http://hackaday.com/2012/12/28/a-portable-cnc-mill/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Approval of warrantless electronic spying powers
Actually it was more of a renewal of what Bush passed 5 years ago. It makes me wish encryption was a little more common for communication use. Since I am sure this power does not get abused at all 🙂 … Continue reading

Microsoft reduces GPS chip power consumption with the cloud
I love to watch the batter on my phone go down when I turn on GPS. MS apparently has figured out a way to reduce this power consumption by off-loading some of the work into the “cloud”. This confuses me, … Continue reading

How to save a gadget that got wet
Most of the bits make sense, but the one new item was using rice krispies cereal instead of just rice to dry it out for a few days. http://gizmodo.com/5951415/how-to-rescue-wet-gadgets

Tinkering with an Arduino and using a WebServer
Interesting article where basically you can tweak the LED’s an arduino has thru a webserver on it, which is proxied thru a PC. At this point and old PC with a serial connector better, parallel port would work better. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-give-arduino-control-over-the-internet-without-an-ethernet-shield/ … Continue reading

For the Nook Tablet and Color. This means you can run Android 4.2 on your older Nook Color and spruce it up. Why is this exciting, well I err borrow my son’s nook color sometime to tinker on. http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/12/nook-tablet-gets-unofficial-cyanogenmod-10-1-android-4-2-build/?utm_source=mainrss
