Make a simple mouse jiggler

OK so I have a need to keep a computer from going into sleep mode, unfortunately the system was configured in a way by the IT dept so we can’t turn off sleep mode. So…using a digispark (arduino clone that … Continue reading

3D printed filer

OK the author build a tool to file away at something. Hum…I wonder if a belt sander would have been a better build here. Still nice build. The author seems to build alot of 3D printed tools. https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/3d-printed-die-filer-87342?homelistings#post188785

Using a fingerprint sensor and arduino for a BIO authentication

Basically you authenticate your stored fingerprint to the arduino, that then issues the unlock (password in this case as an HID interface) to the computer. Interesting build, would be easy to hack. https://www.instructables.com/PC-Fingerprint-Login-Works-on-Any-Computer-xiao-Ar/

3D print a 3D scanner

OK this is a clever build, using an old android phone, arduino, and a motor, the author make a 3D scanner. I would simplify this a bit more by not 3D printing the holder for the phone, and just use … Continue reading

Nice video on Component Testers

I actually don’t have one myself. But its on the list. Most of the time I am either looking up the part number, or finding my resistor chart. But for $10, this is nice. All based on an arduino too.

Making a Thermal Insert Press

So the author needed to put some fasteners in 3D printed parts, the base way is to melt them in. Problem is getting is straight for a bunch of them. So we made a thermal press with a soldering iron. … Continue reading

Interfacing RPi GPIO remotely

The author basically made a simple rest interface for the GPIO pins of an Raspberry Pi with an installer. This way you can interface it remotely.

Nice CNC Etch-a-Sketch build

A bit older article, but its a nice build where the author can draw on an etch-a-sketch.

I can’t remember if I mentioned this build before. They author sells it as a “kit” too. Its a nice looking build, still alot of work to make. https://www.instructables.com/Mini-Boat/
