Recharge devices with Water and Fire
Interesting device that uses water/fire to provide a 3W charge. Its $70 and looks pretty small so could be easy to transport while camping. My 2 cents, how on earth would this fit over a campfire. http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20130809/flamestower-fire-recharge-phone/ http://www.flamestower.com

A true dual head extruder
Nice, a simple head that can switch between 2 filaments via series of gears. Kindof one of those “I should have thought of that” moments. I like the idea, but at around 175 for a head…I’ll pass. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130810-the-dual-and-quad-reinvented-3d-printer-extrusion-head-on-kickstarter.html

XOBXOB and arduino together
Interesting article combining xobxob (pronounced zob zob) together with an arduino and android. XOBXOB seems to be an attempt at an interface between devices and the cloud (and back). Its something I will have to dig a bit deeper into … Continue reading
Modify an eggbot to stencil on bottles
Actually on Klein bottles (funny shaped) no less. Funny I was just thinking about building something for wine bottles to do this myself. http://makezine.com/2013/08/12/eggbot-vs-klein-bottle/

OpenROV, you own underwater explorer
I remember hearing about this project about a year ago (maybe a kickstarter project?). Anyways, its a neat idea to build a sub/robot that can go down 100 feet. For about 1 grand. Me, they need to move that decimal … Continue reading

Looks like someone ported hacksaw to android
Called USBCleaver. It basically allows the phone to get stuff off a windows box via its USB port. I’ll be trying this out soon. 🙂 http://m.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/2278680/android-hack-tool-siphons-windows-pc-data code here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656497
Clever way to turn a pallet into a wine rack
Very clever idea, only downside is I think you are suppose to tip the bottles to keep the cork wet. http://lifehacker.com/show-off-your-wine-collection-with-a-pallet-677876588?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+lifehacker%2Ffull+%28Lifehacker%29

Another article on turning an router into an arduino shield
$20 is alot cheaper than the $50 for the official shield. http://hackanerd.wordpress.com/2013/07/06/how-to-make-a-simple-arduino-wireless-shield/ http://hackaday.com/2013/07/06/turning-a-router-into-an-arduino-shield/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29
Hack your RPi to work better with VGA
Interesting hack where a current regulator is added in to help boost the power for HDMI to VGA. http://hackaday.com/2013/07/06/bolstering-raspberry-pi-hdmi-with-a-current-regulator/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Build your own EEPROM programmer with an Arduino
Wow, people still use these. Amazing. Anyways, if you don’t want to fork out the cash for a EEPROM programmer, make your own. http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/07/31/meeprommer-eeprom-programmer-based-on-arduino-hardware/ Forum notes on it http://forum.6502.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2491
