Interesting water only cooler

This is an interesting build that basically uses water as a radiator like cooler (instead of the typical bucket cooler with ice).  Nice build, curious how well it works thought. http://hackaday.com/2014/08/08/a-do-it-yourself-air-conditioner-with-evaporative-cooling-5-gallon-bucket/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Nice Write-up on building an Arduino Wireless Alarm System

Good write-up on how to build a simple, wireless (RF), alarm system with arduino and mini’s.  I think it could be cheap’ed down more if so desired too. http://www.instructables.com/id/ARDUINO-WIRELESS-HOME-SECURITY-SYSTEM/?ALLSTEPS

Laser cut Spherebot

If I only had a laser cutter CNC.  Anyways nice write-up (and free plans) for building a spherebot with a laser cutter cutting out the parts.  Most of these I see are 3D printed, or hand built.  Wish I had … Continue reading

OwnCloud, opensource for a private cloud storage

After wondering about cheaper, and more in control ways of putting data in the cloud, I stumbled on an opensource project to do just that, called owncloud.  It looks pretty simple to use, and there are instructions on how to … Continue reading

Cheap laser cutters and upgrades

I was reading the bottom article on DangerousPrototypes today, and it got me thinking about how to upgrade some of the cheap laser cutters you can now get for $400-500 dollars (and cheaper).  And doesn’t hackaday have an article on … Continue reading

Building a Rubber Band Gatling Gun

This is a very well done write-up on building a hand cranked rubber band gatling gun.  A while back I mentioned on for $100.  But this is much better and you can build it with kids.  Roughly, I think the … Continue reading

Nice write-up on using GBRL for CNC

I have heard of several folks using GBRL, arduino code for converting gcode into stepper control for CNC, but not too many step by step write-ups on how to do it. http://www.instructables.com/id/My-GBRL-cnc-controller-with-Arduino/
