Nice video on Component Testers

I actually don’t have one myself. But its on the list. Most of the time I am either looking up the part number, or finding my resistor chart. But for $10, this is nice. All based on an arduino too.

Programming a message on a Microbit with a joystick

Reminds me of doing this on TV remotes, the author basically uses the joystick to go thru the alphabet and click the letter to select, then click end and the word gets “scrolled” by. https://www.instructables.com/BBC-MicroBit-Joystick-Keyboard/

Making a Thermal Insert Press

So the author needed to put some fasteners in 3D printed parts, the base way is to melt them in. Problem is getting is straight for a bunch of them. So we made a thermal press with a soldering iron. … Continue reading

Making gates for a shop vac system

Pretty nice (and fancy looking) build for vaccum gates. Me…I would go a bit cheaper on the build. Actually I might just buy cheap ones from overseas. https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/gates-suction-circuit-how-do-87181?homelistings#post188109

Parallel and circle guide jig for a router

I actually like this build. The handle on the end is nice to do a two grip on it. https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/parallel-circle-guide-jig-87303?homelistings#post188601

Making your own Gambeson

Well not a “working” version (so don’t go invading any castles with it), but still a nice build for something that looks authentic. https://www.instructables.com/Making-Your-Own-Gambeson-Quilted-Cloth-Armor/

Interesting motorized pressure regulator

Instead of using a $20 and up pressure regulator, the author used an analog gauge and wire contacts within it to determine when to shut the compressor on/off. There is a motor that turns the incoming supply on and off … Continue reading
