Pretty simple example of the two.  Works for 90 degree based servos. http://www.instructables.com/id/Using-a-Servo/

Interesting build for a remote pool temperature monitor

Its a cheap build too.  Using an ESP8266 (these have been showing up in alot of projects lately).  The build itself is pretty simple but I wonder if the sensor should be somewhere else in the pool instead of inline … Continue reading

Convert your red wagon into a coffee table

Nice build.  Simple to do too.  So if you need to convert your kids wagon to something useful.  This looks nice.  I wonder if you could maybe mount the wheels to the legs to make it look functional (like 1/2 … Continue reading

Nice build to reverse engineer IR signals

Basically the author uses an ESP8266 with a home built IR setup to get/set signals.  This maybe a good solution to help with repurposing old IR remotes to something else. Reverse Engineering and Networking The A/C Remote Control source is … Continue reading

LED eyes for pumpkins

This is a nice simple project for adding some eyes to your pumpkin.  Use a tube to put the electronics/LED’s on,  a paperclip to hold it in place, and away you go.  A simple ghetto build for eyes. http://www.instructables.com/id/Cruelty-Free-Pumpkin-Eyes/

Interesting Microscope arm, but it could be cheaper

Nice build for a microscope arm, but the author could have gone cheaper, maybe used an arm from and old desk lamp (you know one with springs on it).  And maybe re-purpose an old manual microscope to more.  Still good … Continue reading

Getting started with ESP8266

So, I got one now, started looking around at how to get started with it.  Sofar here are some sites that I found good information on: http://www.instructables.com/id/ESP8266-ESP-12Standalone-Blynk-101/ -custom build, but works with Blynk and good starting point. https://evothings.com/how-to-connect-your-phone-to-your-esp8266-module/ – nice … Continue reading

Interesting forge build

Bigger than the coffee can build the author did originally.  This build actually looks pretty easy to do, well minus the bit getting the tank and cutting it.  The use of thermal blanket stuff is much easier than the mud … Continue reading
