Xerox happy hour in NYC

eMazzanti Technologies hosted a happy hour for customers that included Xerox and Dropbox for sponsors…I think.  And went over the print services Xerox provides.  Sadly I wasn’t invited. http://www.dailymarkets.com/stock/2013/04/23/emazzanti-hosts-high-tech-happy-hour-with-xerox-and-dropbox/

A bike caliper lamp

I like this, its a nice cheap way to have a clamp light.  I will have to look a little closer at some of these old brakes to do this for tool lights for work projects.  Using a spring on … Continue reading

Cheap and portable seed starter

This could be a build for me.  Uses a tote, some lights, and is portable.  Why?  Well with dogs, its hard to keep plants around (starter ones) where they don’t want to destroy them.  And its small and portable, so … Continue reading

Another Reason why I wish I had a shopbot

Under a $1 shelf brackets.  These made out of what looks like 1 inch plywood.  The design is pretty simple and you could even modify it to be prettier…if you have a CNC/shopbot to make them on. http://www.instructables.com/files/deriv/FGS/RNL0/HFD18KPA/FGSRNL0HFD18KPA.LARGE.jpg

Cool looking aquaponics system

Nice build, gent uses fish for the fertilizer to feed the plants, which clean the watter and get it back to the fish.  Little overkill for me to build thought. http://www.instructables.com/id/Easy-Aquaponics-from-mostly-re-purposed-material/

Build a $300 segway

Several years later and I still don’t see segways everywhere as folks predicted.  Apparently this author wanted one on the cheap, so built a simple one with some motors from a wheelchair (common theme lately) and used some other parts from here … Continue reading

Xerox causes bomb scare in Albany

Apparently a delivery from Xerox of paper and supplies caused a bomb scare in Albany’s “State Education” building.  Why someone would bomb that building over all the other ones in Albany…and how a box labeled and such go confused as … Continue reading

Xerox interview/article on eDiscovery

One of the not as well known aspects of Xerox is services it provides to lawyers in datamining (they call it eDiscovery) and filing of paperwork.  Interesting article to read. http://www.metrocorpcounsel.com/articles/23564/beyond-cost-savings-how-advanced-analytics-e-discovery-may-be-pivotal-successful-case
