Make a Drawbot out of 2 CDROMs, a Servo, and an RPi

I think using an RPi here is a bit overkill (what no arduino?).  But still this is a nice simple build you could do for a drawbot.  And I think this design is easier to put together than some of … Continue reading

Nice simple CNC mill

This is similar to a build I made, uses puckboard (HDPE plastic board, what I used too).  Its easier to cut and lighter than wood.  My build is bigger but doesn’t have nice roller bearings like this one.    Or nice … Continue reading

Nice converter for go-pro hanger

Nice build to make something that can hold a flashlight with a go-pro hanger. http://www.instructables.com/id/GoPro-Hinged-Pipe-Clamp/

Interesting “cheap” CNC

This build is cool since it uses basic handtools, stuff you can get from Home Depot on the cheap.  And the motors looks like pulls from something that the author didn’t remove the gears off of, instead used them to … Continue reading

Thats on big freaking laser on CDROM CNC

Nice build but…OMG that is one big laser to put on a simple CDROM based CNC.  But I guess if you are only doing board design….me…Gee couldn’t he have just used a standard CNC and mill’ed off what he did/didn’t … Continue reading

Interesting clay extruder build on thingiverse

This caught my interest.  A clay extruder that looks like it does not use a plunger approach.  Most of these builds have used a needle like plunger.  This one doesn’t and has an insteresting auger build (looks like a screw).  … Continue reading

Print out a simple key holder paracord gizmo

Interesting gizmo.  The 3D printed part acts as a sleeve for a key, and can be wrapped with paracord.  Why?  Well good stuff to have in an emergency (kindof like duct tape). http://www.instructables.com/id/Paracord-3D-Printed-Key-Protector/

Make your own solderless magnetic connectors

Nifty build.  Me…I think I will just solder on the wires to a connector.  Still if I wanted to make a custom connector, maybe put an LED inside it for feedback…this would be the way to go. http://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-DIY-Magnetic-JackPlug-for-Any-Purpose-No-/

Another mini arduino plotter

Seems to be a trend of these being built lately. http://www.instructables.com/id/Mini-Arduino-Plotter-Without-a-Servo-Motor/
