Nice write-up on the different types of soldering tips
I knew all but one in the list, worth reading if you are just starting out with solder. http://www.instructables.com/id/Uses-of-Different-Soldering-Iron-Tips/

Interesting homemade windmill
This looks like a good project for kids. Most of the materials are pretty cheap (pvc pipe, old CD, motor from a VCR). Not so sure I would have picked a model airplane propeller thought, maybe build your own? http://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-Backyard-Wind-Turbine/

Build a remote bottle boat
Not the best of write-ups on how the author built the boat. And its not as cheap as it could be (using an arduino for the controller, full UNO board). But still a good learning project. I wish the author … Continue reading

Build your own saltwater flashlight
I never thought about using salt water for powering LED’s. Good idea. The author took pennies, aluminum foil, tissue paper, and later on a Joule Thief. Nice build. http://www.instructables.com/id/Water-Powered-Flashlight-v2/

How to make playdough like circuits
Nice write-up on how to make a playdough like substance for circuits to teach kids the basics of circuits. They have a website too to talk more about the project as a course. http://www.instructables.com/id/Lead-a-workshop-on-Squishy-Circuits-for-kids-even-/ http://courseweb.stthomas.edu/apthomas/SquishyCircuits/index.htm

Make an LED light clock
This more caught my eye as a good arduino project. The author made a clock that shows time based on lighting LED’s, the pic is not a good example, but the video on the site is. http://www.instructables.com/id/Charliexplexed-LED-Clock-Arduino/

Build a plotter from printer/scanner parts
Seen this a few times in the past, but not this clean looking. The author basically used CNC to make a plotter. I like the use of the pencil for drawing. This would be a good kid project. http://www.instructables.com/id/cheap-nice-and-weird-A4-graph-plotter-25-some-scra/

Use your CNC to make your own keys
Why pay $2 and up for a spare key when you can make your own with your CNC. Well if you already have a CNC that is. The directions are not the greatest on how to do this, but you … Continue reading

Good Tutorial on Current Limiting Diodes
Nice video tutorial on limiting diodes to switch a regular bulb light in a car dash to LED. http://hackaday.com/2014/01/06/current-limiting-diode-use-and-tutorial/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29
