Hooking a doorbell to the internet
Nice write up on adding support for a doorbell to page you on the internet. Would also be a nice addition to a home build security system. http://harizanov.com/2012/08/hooking-my-wireless-doorbell-to-the-internet/
How to get free parts for your Robot/3D printer/CNC/etc

Cool Snake Water Robot
This was cool, a robot snake that can swim. All made from parts you can get at home depot and radio shack (well arduino not seeduino). http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-swimming-Robo-Snake/
Good way to quickly find pairs in stepper motors
Good quick way to find pairs of wires in stepper motors. I usually just use a meter, but this would be easier and more fun. http://www.instructables.com/id/Find-Bipolar-Stepper-Motor-Coil-Pairs/
Simple outdoor solar powered security camera
Nice simple use of a webcam for a security camera. I had a setup with “real” cameras a while back running zoneminder on the backend. I may revisit that setup with this too. https://imgur.com/a/IgdrQ/noscript
Cheap wireless motion sensor
Nice writeup on building a simple wireless motion sensor. http://www.instructables.com/id/Cheap-Wireless-Motion-Sensor-Device/
Interesting RFID Shield for Arduino
This is an interesting shield that supports RFID…it has allot of potential for using in PEN testing in security. I haven’t read up too much on it, but its worth looking at more details in the future. http://www.open-electronics.org/arduino-rfid-shield/
Cheap ATiny Proximity Sensor
Nice instructable as to how to make a 2-4 dollar prox sensor. This could come in handy for alarms, robots, even CNC based systems. Read about it here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-an-Attiny13-based-IR-proximity-sensor-for-2/
