EGYDuino, a one sided arduino
Nice build of an arduino board that has only one sided circuit and thru-hole. Makes it easy to build yourself (edge a card that is) and its sized to take a standard arduino shield. http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/mcu/033/index.html
Make an LED light clock
This more caught my eye as a good arduino project. The author made a clock that shows time based on lighting LED’s, the pic is not a good example, but the video on the site is. http://www.instructables.com/id/Charliexplexed-LED-Clock-Arduino/

Makersmith CNC for $200
This looks like a cool CNC project (kickstarter). Its a little CNC running with servos (small ones) that looks pretty neat. Its small table compared to mine, but the specs are about the same. Thought I think mine has allot … Continue reading

Arduino Quilting Machine
Seems to still be a work in progress. But its a start for a stitching machine. Has some promise. http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Quilting-Machine/

Build and LED headband
I thought this was neat til I saw the BIG BATTERY on top. That has to go. Good project overall thought. Its using an ATiny to control everything. http://www.instructables.com/id/Rainbow-LED-Headband-WS2812-ATTiny85/
RPi CNC Controller
This is pretty cool, and could combine a few systems. But…Its an RPi with an arduino with a motor shield…. so lets see, $20 for arduino, $35 for the Pi, $5 each stepstick, $10 for power supplies…so around $90.. I … Continue reading

Want to make your own RFID security system
Well check out Open Access. Its a arduino based board to control a security system (RFID doors, etc) that is open source based. The “board” is $200, which if you look at solutions from other companies, is pretty cheap. The … Continue reading

Build a pulse sensor
Nice build with IR to figure out your pulse. The video is pretty good and it looks like a simple build with an AVR (arduino) to translate the signal. It could be a little cheaper by using non-radio shack parts, … Continue reading
Project to make programmable flickering lights
I stumbled on this arduino project where the author built a system to “flicker” his lights during Halloween. There is lots of documentation but only circuit diagrams for pictures. http://flowcon.us/td/hwmach/

Build your own password manager (hardware)
Based on an ATiny, its a hardware tool that you can use for a password manager. It sounds interesting but not sure how robust it would be. Its cheaper than other solutions, well except if you already have a … Continue reading
