Breadboard for the ESP8266
I may have to start looking at these boards…they are cheap and becoming popular. The author writes a nice set of instructions on building a simple breadboard adapter for the board. http://www.instructables.com/id/ESP8266-NRF24L01-Breadboard-Adapter/

A wifi enabled door alarm
AHAHAHAH. The author took a cheap $1.50 door alarm and added an ESP8266 to it to make it wireless. Clever idea overall http://www.instructables.com/id/4-WiFi-Door-Alarm-Using-a-ESP8266-IoT/
Small WiFi enabled weather station
At the rate things are going, these little ESP boards are going to take over arduinos. Nice simple build for a weather sensor setup using ESP8266 for comms. Tiny Matchbox WiFi Weather Station
Using an ESP8266 for home automation
This seems to be a common trend to use the ESP8266’s to control devices. Its cheap ($6 in materials). But….security, nil, easy to upgrade…errrr… http://www.instructables.com/id/6-IOT-Home-Automation/?ALLSTEPS
Defeating chip and pin by saying the card is stupid
Interesting tech, the original author built a simple atiny system that would fake out the card reader so it would thing a card was mag stripe only, so it would not use the chip bit. Defeating Chip and PIN With … Continue reading
A cardboard CNC machine
HAHAHAHA… and yes its a cardboard based CNC. And looks like it works pretty good. http://hackaday.com/2016/04/27/cardboard-and-paperclip-cnc-plotter-destined-for-self-replication/

Adding bluetooth to a door lock
The author figured out the comm’s between the keypad and motor control to tap a bluetooth enabled arduino in. Pretty clever. Add Bluetooth to a Cheap Electronic Lock http://www.jpuderer.net/2015/12/my-fancy-bluetooth-le-operated-door-lock.html
A battery sized arduino
Pretty cool, the author build a simple arduino that will fit in a AA battery holder. You put this in line with 2 AA batteries to power it and away you go. Me….well designs are up on github, but I … Continue reading

Nice dog automated feeder
What I liked about this one is the use of an auger to move the food out. Most of the ones I have seen involve some trap door combo thing that looks messy. Oh it uses an arduino as the … Continue reading
Make a Drawbot out of 2 CDROMs, a Servo, and an RPi
I think using an RPi here is a bit overkill (what no arduino?). But still this is a nice simple build you could do for a drawbot. And I think this design is easier to put together than some of … Continue reading
