Apparently Amazon has tossed a ring in for FreeRTOS

Interesting that Amazon is backing FreeRTOS.  I haven’t used the OS myself but it seems pretty lightweight when compared to Linux.  Maybe worth a look if you are building a scaled down system and want AWS support. Amazon FreeRTOS is … Continue reading

Make a tablesaw milling jig

HAHAHAHA…OK this is pretty neat.  Only thing I think I would use a cheaper blade on the saw to make the boards. https://www.izzyswan.com/tablesaw-saw-mill-jig/

Cool looking star build for Christmas

Its from over a year ago and is arduino based.  Neat build overall but a bit too fast on the “blinking” of the lights for me. http://wpqrek.blogspot.com/2016/12/christmas-star-ornament-made-using.html

Thin strip ripping jig

Ever need to convert a board into thin strips…well I haven’t yet but I do like this build for one.  Pretty straight forward and the PDF gives details how to do it. http://www.shopnotes.com/issues/105/extras/thin-strip-ripping-jig/

Interesting app.  Seems more detailed than the standard google bit that breaks down what is using data and when. https://gizmodo.com/google-s-new-app-stops-your-android-phone-from-sucking-1820879455

Nice folding chair build

Unfortunately the author could not post the file to print out and then cut your own.  But still it gives you the general idea how the chair would work, and how it folds completely flat. http://www.instructables.com/id/Folding-Chair/

Found a cool site for homemade tools

Mostly for woodworking tools.  It has several nice ideas and builds to try out.  I wish they had an RSS feed. http://www.homemadetools.net/

Interesting build for an automated light switch (bluetooth)

I like the build.  But…not so sure I would use Bluetooth, maybe use an ESP and get wifi instead.  I like Wemo switches but they are sometimes hard to fit in older light boxes, and this could be cheaper too.  … Continue reading
