Another item out of BlackHat was how to take over ZWave devices and turn off alarms, open door locks, etc.  I don’t know much about ZWave, well I have heard of it, and know the stuff is a bit pricey … Continue reading

Go to the grocery store, and get materials to build a cheap bedbug trap

I like this, basically its a bowl trap with a sugar/water/yeast combo mixed in to create C2O to draw the bugs in.  It may not be the best of traps, but it would do well for an early warning system. … Continue reading

Here comes the Ford Hacks

I remember reading about how Ford is opening up their interfaces with OpenXC.  This is an interesting hack where the stick shift was replaced so it would vibrate at the right time to shift gears. http://www.open-electronics.org/an-opensource-3d-printed-haptic-car-gear-for-ford/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+OpenElectronics+%28Open+Electronics%29

Samsung makes a cardboard printer

Just a desktop printer that the covering is made of cardboard.  So the build of materials for it will be cheaper (and samsung printers are pretty cheap to begin with).  Little worried about how heat could affect it. http://www.wired.com/design/2013/08/3-clever-new-ideas-for-printers-from-samsung/#slideid-182321
