Looking back at CNC

Its been a few years since I have had a chance to get back into my CNC projects.  Since I was rebuilding everything anyways (I took everything apart a few years ago to move to a new house).  I thought … Continue reading

Looks like Printrbot is moving into the CNC world.  It looks like a nice little CNC, but no word on price, which could be a big deciding factor for alot of folks.  If its under a grand, it may stand … Continue reading

Oh this has to be a robot for your kids to make

Injection Molding With Hot Glue Gun

This has crossed my mind a few times to do myself.  The author basically CNC’ed some molds and then uses the gluegun to squirt glue into the mold to make it. http://hackaday.com/2014/05/12/injection-molding-with-hot-glue/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29 http://www.scorchworks.com/Blog/hot-glue-injection-molding/

Straw based filament

Apparently a company in China has been working on making filament that is based off straw to reduce its costs.  If they pull it off, it will be worth it (cost of filament is crazy these days). http://techcrunch.com/2014/04/28/straw-based-filament-could-drive-down-the-cost-of-3d-printing/?ncid=rss&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Techcrunch+%28TechCrunch%29
