Another tape to use to stick your prints on

The author here writes about using TapeCase 468MP, for your 3D prints to stick too.  Anyone whom has done 3D printing knows bed leveling and sticking are two problems.  Heated beds, special tape (that costs ALOT more than this), some cleaners, … Continue reading

Fix for Printrbot to use new filament

Adafruit made a fix for Printrbots so that you could feed them the new NinjaFlex filament.  NinjaFlex (NOTE: I have not used it myself) is a filament that prints flexable designs.  Seems like a rubber.  However printrbots extruders are too … Continue reading

LinuxCNC Probing

I was reading this article during lunch about using HAL in linuxCNC and probing.  Why?  Well its a good way to level the table, or get the height a part is, zeroing out axis’s.  etc etc. http://7xcnc.com/software/probing/

Upgrading a Power Supply for a cheap CNC

The cheap 3D printer (DIY)

Rebuilding my CNC, Part 5 SUCCESS

$200 and you get a laser engraver

Only if I had $200, nice project build of a laser engraver for $200 that can fit on your existing hobby CNC/3D printer.  Good idea, seems a little pricey for the parts, but its all put together for you. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/l-cheapo-laser-cutter-attachment … Continue reading

Build a plotter from printer/scanner parts

Seen this a few times in the past, but not this clean looking.  The author basically used CNC to make a plotter.  I like the use of the pencil for drawing.  This would be a good kid project. http://www.instructables.com/id/cheap-nice-and-weird-A4-graph-plotter-25-some-scra/

My CNC rebuild, Part 4

Learned another important lesson.  Always make a copy of the documentation of your motor controller (noted below).  Apparently in my move some of the jumpers for micro-stepping must have fallen out.  So what I thought I was using wasn’t right. … Continue reading
