The cheap 3D printer (DIY)

I have seen mini CNC’s made from floppy and CD drives in the past, first time I have seen a 3D printer.  Its a bit funny but if you are on a tight budget, I guess this will do.  The one thing alot of folks do not mention is the its hard finding a used CDROM drive that uses steppers, many of them use a DC motor instead and firmware to figure out where the head is.
