Build…well print your own turbo RC car

The author took his original “Ice Sled” design and modified it for an RC car.  Both designs are pretty clever builds. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:805143

Print out a frame for a garage door “open” sensor

I typically do not put up things form thingiverse, but today is different.  First one up is this nice build for a simple microswitch to indicate if the garage door is open or not. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:806441

Nice Video on making handles for bolts

Print out a filament filter

Nice build for a filament filter for your 3D printer.  You use sponges for the “filter” part.  Why do you do this, apparently the dirt that may get on the filament will build up on the hotend and cause it … Continue reading

3D Printed slider

Well made with PVC pipe for “sliding” on.  The author built this for DSLR cameras.  Me…this could make a good build for a simple CNC for kid projects.  Oh and I don’t think the author factored in the plastic in … Continue reading

3D print Z-Axis for CNC

Nice build for an almost all printed Z-axis for a CNC.  Not so sure I would do this over building one from other materials.  I would be a bit worried about the flex on the plastic.  The author geared this … Continue reading

A nice simple 3D printed cabinet for RPi for arcade games

Nice build for a portable arcade with an Raspberry Pi.  All the designs are on Thigiverse, look for “the arcade cabinet”. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20150416-create-a-3d-printed-arcade-cabinet-using-a-raspberry-pi.html

3D print RC car tracks for your car

Cool build.  The author designed the tracks to fit on RC cars instead of tires.  looks like they work pretty good.  The only down side, it sounds like printing out the track can take a very long time. http://www.instructables.com/id/RC-car-tracks-in-110-scale/

Another simple (ish) eggbot build

This once is nice since it doesn’t require a 3D printer, uses an arduino (over PIC), and can be built with hand tools.  Oh and its a cheap build too.  Me, I think I would use a CNC shield over … Continue reading
