Make a bark back pet monitor
Apparently if the dog barks it plays a recording to not bark. I was thinking this would be nice if the dog barks for other reasons to trigger something. Bark Back IoT Pet Monitor project here : http://foxbotindustries.com/bark-back-monitor-interact-pets/

Use and RPi with an old speaker
Its using a version of RPi called MusicBox. Have not heard of it before, but it looks cool. I have some older RPis (original) that this maybe a good re purposing use for. http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-Your-Old-Speaker-in-Smart-Speaker-With-Raspbe/

Nice write up on how to create a Minecraft server with RPi
I know I have posted a few of these before. But this is a nice write up so I thought it worth posting up. Note I think you can get away with an RPi original here too, not just an … Continue reading

Have a spare RPi, setup a game server
It seems the game server setup for RPi’s has expanded alot from just minecraft. Doom and Quake are on the list now. And another one called Windward sounds interesting ($10 a whack thought). FreeCiv might be a good one to … Continue reading

How to secure your RPi

Nice write-up on the the MagPi Google Assistant hack
I like this write up. Unlike some of the other ones, you don’t have to hit a button to kick it off. Its voice activated like the one you can buy. http://www.instructables.com/id/Hands-Free-Google-Assistant-for-Raspberry-Pi/

Another automated turret build
This one is a bit interesting since it seems to shoot bursts out instead of single shots. The difference from past ones is no arduino involved (RPi and a hat for motor control), and no laptop to do image processing/etc. … Continue reading

Nice write-up on how to convert your RPi to be a Google Assistant
So, want a google home but don’t want to shell out $100. Have a spare RPi? This looks like a good build to try out. http://www.instructables.com/id/Voice-Activated-Google-Assistant-for-Raspberry-Pi/

Cool looknig smart mirror
This has to be one of the nicer builds I have seen. Uses a large monitor and the frame is perfect at hiding it. Oh and a RPi is controlling the whole thing. https://www.instructables.com/id/LuxOs-Open-Joinery-32-Smart-Mirror/

Ha, simple robot build
This one is pretty impressive build. With an RPi and some simple motor controllers. http://hackaday.com/2017/05/31/zerobot-is-as-simple-as-it-gets/
