Using an RPi to know who is home
Pretty good idea, uses MAC addresses to figure out who is home or not. Given the RPi Zero is $5, the rest of the stuff to go with it puts it around $20. https://github.com/initialstate/pi-sensor-free-presence-detector/wiki

Easy way to make a custom RPi Image, PiBakery
Can’t get any easier than using a GUI to add in what you need and how to do it. https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/pibakery/

Using Docker to cross-compile for RPi
I wish other board vendors would do this instead of the painful tool setups most have. Basically you can run Docker on your big iron machine, download the right container for RPi and have it compile everything. How to Use … Continue reading

Build a RPi Carputer
Nice build for a computer in your car. I have been thinking of something similar since I don’t have bluetooth in my car and the android based car radios are way out of my price range. https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/the-carputer/

PwnyExpress like RPi
If you didnt know PwnyExpress makes these wall wart like boxes that you plug into a site and it looks for issues in the network. Apparently someone made an opensource version with a Raspberry Pi called Warberry Pi. http://lifehacker.com/warberry-pi-is-a-dead-simple-pen-testing-toolkit-for-th-1785503906

Interesting review of an Intel Genuino
Interesting review to read. Really wish they did it all one one page. But…If you need an arduino with a low end Raspberry Pi, this would be a good solution (35-40 dollars after shipping). But if you just need a … Continue reading

FullPageOS, for RPi
Interesting OS, its goal is an OS for providing information displays. It turns off all screen savers, and other functionality so that its always “up”. Could be good for a photo displayer or one of the mirror setups. http://lifehacker.com/fullpageos-automatically-boots-your-raspberry-pi-into-a-1779862376

Another mirror display, but this maybe easier than using see thru glass
Interesting build. I was thinking of something similar with a tablet. What I like on this one is the author uses regular glass with reflective window film. Much cheaper solution. http://www.instructables.com/id/100-Smart-Mirror-Pi/?ALLSTEPS
