AT commands for the HC-05 for Bluetooth

The author reverse engineered the AT commands (from the looks of it) for the HC-05 bluetooth module so you can take advantage of several components within it.  These things go for $5-$8 bucks which is cheap for bluetooth.  Good for … Continue reading

Use a TP-Link for a Arduino ethernet shield

Want wireless ethernet access for your arduino or TI MSP?  Use the TP-Link TL-WR703N as written up in the directions in the link below.  These sell for around 20-30 dollars, much cheaper than a wireless shield for arduino (50 ish)   http://www.martinmelchior.be/2013/07/use-tp-link-tl-wr703n-to-send-arduino.html?m=1 … Continue reading

Arduino lib for TI’s cheap wifi chip

Someone ported the code for TI’s wifi chip to Arduino, which is very cheap for WiFi (around $10).  The eval board for it is $35, which I believe is cheaper than the arduino wifi shield, but not cheaper than some … Continue reading

Opensource stepper motor driver, EasyDriver

I like this project, you can buy them at sparkfun by the way for $15, or cheaper on ebay.  I hate using either a shifter, or 4+ output lines to control a stepper.  This looks like a nice alternative for … Continue reading

TI Stellaris video player

Nice project, I think the screen costs more than the processor thought  🙂 http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/04/29/stellaris-launchpad-based-video-player

Neat touchscreen to speaker with TI

This was clever, the author using at TI MSP and a touchscreen made a cooridnate system for “keys” for a piano-like setup and the TI then pipes the note thru the speaker.  Pretty clever and “cheap” http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/04/25/tiano-msp430-based-touchscreen-piano

Arduino Uno vs RPi vs Beaglebone

Nice article comparing the three boards, I was a little disappointed that didn’t include TI’s MSP which would be comparable to Arduino in A/D and is very cheap.  Actually I have never really looked at beaglebone since they are $99 … Continue reading

Hack a Hexbug to run with TI MSP

I feel like TI’s micro-controller gets ignored alot by the hobby folks.  So pulling up some TI projects I know about like this one.  The author modified a Hexbug (radio shack toy) to be controlled by a TI 430MSP.  A … Continue reading

TI has a prototype of a 3D mouse

Interesting a 3 dimensional mouse prototype for TI for the MSP….I wonder if the shield for the MSP will be $5 or under (would suck if the shield costs more than the CPU) http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/10/ti-launchpad-mouse/
