Kirtas basically is a book scanner that came out of Xerox…gee like 10 years ago.  Its pretty neat tech.  It looks like the sales and support for it have grown allot over the years, but R&D staff is still under … Continue reading

WDS/Xerox is hiring

WDS, a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing company is hiring (WDS was bought out by Xerox a year ago).  Mostly looks like dataprocessing types.  Which is better than call center jobs  :). http://www.timesrecordnews.com/news/2013/aug/30/wds-hold-recruiting-event-saturday/

Nice write-up on some simple good looking shelf brackets.  I have built similar ones but did not put the cross bit sideways (which looks nicer to me). http://www.instructables.com/id/Heavy-Duty-Shelf-Brackets/?ALLSTEPS

MilkRap- turn a milkcrate into a 3D printer

Basically this is a rep-rap like design with the crate being the frame.  Clever idea overall.  Makes it more portable too. http://www.instructables.com/id/MilkRap-Milk-Crate-RepRap/

Hacking the car to integrate a speedbuster

Interesting hack with an arduino canbus gizmo (first time I have heard of it) which basically allows you to put input out to the car’s screen. http://hackaday.com/2013/08/31/radar-detector-integrated-with-dashboard-display-screens/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29
