Building a lawnmower bot
Stumbled on this where the author build a solar powered lawnmower robot. Actually the controller part is solar. Rest still is gas. Basically its an arduino controlled robot with 2 wheelchair motors moving it along and the front wheels replaced … Continue reading

Graffiti sand printer
Interesting robot printer combo that prints out words with sand and the medium. This was an article on it from a while back, but I never got a chance to look into it til now. Cool looking bot, but … Continue reading

Oh this has to be a robot for your kids to make
I like this CNC/robot project. There are 2 versions, 1st one is lego based and would be a good project for a kid to work on. 2nd is more CNC oriented. I wonder if the author is planning to make … Continue reading

Cool looking running Robot
Cool looking and fast robot. Basically it has legged wheels. It looks like it runs great on pavement, I wonder how well it would do on off-road conditions. But at ~300$ a shot, its out of my range. http://hackaday.com/2014/05/10/robot-runs-on-6-legs-but-never-more-than-2-at-a-time/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Lego’s with RPi == Bookreader
Clever build with the author (with directions) built a book reader/scanner with legos and an Raspberry PI with RPi camera. This has to be one of the cheapest book scanner options I have seen yet. http://www.instructables.com/id/BrickPi-Bookreader-Digitize-Books-With-Mindstorms-/

Cool 3D printed eggbot design
Its got a bit of a ways to go, but this is much more promising that some of the other spherebot/eggbot designs I have seen that involve printing out the parts on a 3D printer. Since its all one part, … Continue reading

A simple belt tensioner
This was worth checking out, the author just took a clothes pin and pulled out the spring part and is using that to tighten a belt. This is important with CNC/3D systems and robots (so the belt doesn’t skip). http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:298142

CAN Hacking Intro
Nice intro to CAN by hackaday. CAN is the car based network that has been around…actually I am not sure when it started (its been around for some time with robotics). http://hackaday.com/2013/10/21/can-hacking-introductions/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Interesting article on a Delta Robot that just ran a successful kickstarter project. It is not a 3D printer, but parts could be made from it, and it looks like it could be converted to one. For $100 bucks, it … Continue reading

Another Hacked Lawnmower
You have to go an check out the video of this lawnmower. basically this is a full-blown lawnmower (gas powered cutter) with 2 drive motors in front and casters in the back to move it around. The thing moves pretty … Continue reading
