Build your own Bluetooth Arduino Programmer Shield

Nice write-up from the author on building a shield to program the arduino via bluetooth.  This can eliminate the need of a USB cable, and could allow for re-programming arduinos that are hard to get too.  Thought I don’t think … Continue reading

Doorlock remote with bluetooth and an arduino

I like the build and idea, but…This could be done on such a cheaper scale.  Thought the Bluetooth module is the low-power version of Bluetooth.  The Arduino will still sip electric. http://makezine.com/projects/controlling-a-lock-with-an-arudino-and-bluetooth-le/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=%24%7Bfeed%7D&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+%24%7Bmakezineonline%7D+%28%24%7BMAKE%7D%29&utm_content=%24%7BGoogleReader%7D

Make an LED Lite Scarf

Nice write-up, basically the author uses an LED strip, a mini arduino/Teensy, and a battery pack.  The scarf is fuzzy material wrapped and stitched around the strip.  The pictures are pretty nice. http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Scarf/

Using REST with Arduino Yun

Now that the new bred of arduino’s are network enabled, someone decided to build a REST interface to control the pins on it. Good idea but….security is lacking here.  As long as you are not worried about that, then go … Continue reading

Build an ethernet connection for arduino for $10

Nice write-up on adding in a simple ethernet controller to an arduino.  The author’s version costs $10, but as some of the comments reference cheaper solutions for $5.  Which is allot cheaper than an ethernet shield ($30 and up) for … Continue reading

Flash an arduino by printing to it

Interesting idea, the author figured out how to flash and Amtel by setting it up as a printer and sending the code as a binary to it.  This could be useful for folks that sell something based on arduino/amtel and … Continue reading

Build a OTP doorlock

This was too funny.  The author wrote a one time password hook for an arduino for a doorlock.  So you could use something like google authenticator to unlock your door. http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/09/15/one-time-password-otp-doorlock/ http://www.lucadentella.it/en/2013/09/14/serratura-otp/
