Open stepper motor controller

Simple design with surface mount for a 3 volt stepper motor.  I wonder with the design free, if the cost for buying an assembled version will be cheaper than ones I find now at sparkfun.com (10 and up). http://dangerousprototypes.com/2012/12/10/yet-another-stepper-driver/

Drone for watching your kids get on the bus

I seem to be on a bus theme today. Nice write-up of a dad that built a quad coter to follow/monitor his kids as they go to the bus.  He uses an arduino under the hood. http://spectrum.ieee.org/geek-life/hands-on/the-diy-kidtracking-drone

Want a drone, print your own

Nice build for a 3D printed out drone plane.  I really need to get my 3D printer going…. http://www.wired.com/design/2012/11/3d-printed-autonomous-airplane/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wired%2Findex+%28Wired%3A+Top+Stories%29

3D scanner with an arduino, a motor, and some legos

Nice writeup on building a 3D scanner.  Which you will need to scann in and print out 3D objects  🙂 http://www.instructables.com/id/Lets-cook-3D-scanner-based-on-Arduino-and-Proces/

3D printed Quad Cotor

This is neat, you can print out the parts (not including batteries, controller, motors) for your own quadcotor.  Or you can buy the frame for $15 from the author here. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29632

Air based bots help swarm bots

Nice idea of using quad copter bots to help swarm bots (on the ground) get from one point to the other.  Any military applications here? http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/artificial-intelligence/iros-2012-ar-drone-helps-swarm-of-selfassembling-robots-to-overcome-obstacles#disqus_thread
