Translate a Digital Caliper readout

Nice build with a Trinket Pro (mini arduino) where the author takes the data from a cheap harbor frieght like caliper, and translates it into a HID Keyboard data. http://hackaday.com/2015/01/03/trinket-edc-contest-usb-calipers/ http://hackaday.io/project/3745-usb-caliper-hid

Nice example build on using an arduino with bluetooth to talk to Android

This was a nice write-up on how to get an android device to talk to an arduino via bluetooth. http://www.instructables.com/id/Aurduino-Android-Bluetooth-Naughty-Nice-Meter-Part/

Build a remote controlled light switch with an arduino

I like this build, but…I was thinking, wouldn’t a Belkin WeMo be easier? http://www.instructables.com/id/Remote-Control-Light-switch-ARDUINO/

Another simple robot arm

This arm is 3D printed instead of cut like the previous.  The directions are not as good as the last one, but its still a nice build and uses an arduino. http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Robotic-Arm-1/

A cheap Robot Arm

Nice simple build with a couple of servos and a small sheet of plastic.  I wish there was an outsourced order group to get the “cuts” done thought referenced in the directions. http://www.instructables.com/id/Pocket-Sized-Robot-Arm-meArm-V04/ And bigger one here: http://www.instructables.com/id/My-meArm-Bigger-Stronger-Longer/ UPDATE: there … Continue reading

Build a robotic bartender on the cheap

Well cheaper than the aiBAR mentioned.  Nice build though a bit clunky.  Clean up the wood box would go a long ways. Oh and non-plastic cups. http://www.instructables.com/id/Robotic-Bartender-Arduino-Based/

Build your own Arduino based, one arm, drawing bot

What is nice about this build, is not only using an arduino, but servos for the motors too.  Its a pretty simple build and could easily be done with kids.  I wish the write-up was a bit better thought. http://www.instructables.com/id/Drawing-Robot/

A simple (and cheap) arduino based mini CNC

Nice simple CNC build from CDROM drives.  Its not the prettiest, but the write up is good and it runs.  I like one of the comments that references a cheap bit holder (collet) here.  Would I build one of these? … Continue reading

How to install drivers for ATiny and USBasp in Windows

Good write-up on how to do it, of course if you use linux…. http://rayshobby.net/?p=9912

Another nice project on using an arduino and RFID to control a door

In this case the author is controlling a garage door.  Only down side is the RFID readers can get pricey. https://bitbucket.org/jason955/arduino-access-control
