Program your arduino with an Android device

Basically this is making use of one of two apps, ArduinoDroid or ArduinoCommander.  I was thinking this would be a good add if you have arduinos located in tough locations and use your phone to re-program them.  Instead of dragging … Continue reading

Interesting battery shield for the arduino

Its a homebrewed one that uses 2 AA rechargables.  Interesting build overall.  Not so sure I would do it since there are many cheap bought solutions now. http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Arduino-AA-Undershield/?ALLSTEPS

Build your own arduino solar charger

Nice build on using an arduino to controll the charge to batteries for a solar array.  Gives a nice display on stats too.  Why would you do this?  Well its a cheaper way to get information and control the charge … Continue reading

Minimalist arduino gaming system

From what I can tell, its about $20-25 dollars in parts to build this simple arduino based video game system.  Its not going to play any of the bigger mame based stuff.  But it can do tetris. http://hackaday.com/2015/05/27/mimimalist-arduino-gaming-platform/

All seasons light up earrings

I got a kick out of this build.  The board is custom and uses an ATiny system.  If you build 3-4 of these, it looks like you can get the cost down to $15 (author things $10 each). http://www.instructables.com/id/Electronic-All-Seasons-All-Holidays-LED-Earrings/

Simple earthquake vibration sensor for your arduino

Good write-up with sample code for an earthquake detector with an arduino.  I think the build could be cheaped down to an ATiny thought. http://www.instructables.com/id/Earthquake-Vibration-Sensor/

build a cat laser toy

Cool build, I was thinking of doing something similar for dogs.  The mounts for the servo’s are 3D printed, but you could just build something with wood instead. http://www.instructables.com/id/Cat-Laser-Entertainer-Robot/

Easy way to code for arduino, use Scratch

Nice visual way to write programs.  If you have kids and want to get them to start coding, this would be a good way to start. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/afraid-programming-code-try-scratch-arduino/

Good tutorial on using Nokia 5110 with an Arduino

Nice tutorial on using this display with an arduino, these have come down allot in price ($3-4) lately.  Which is cheaper than some of the other arduino based displays I have seen out there.  I am curious how much space … Continue reading
