Woodworking for Geeks
Good notes on sites for info on woodworking oriented towards tinkers and “geeks”. Great for folks that may have just retired from Xerox (hi guys). http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/learn-to-build-your-own-furniture-with-these-impressive-carpentry-and-woodworking-resources/ http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/ http://woodgears.ca/ http://www.woodworkingformeremortals.com/

Military using mini copters with cameras
This sounds pretty neat, a robot copter with a camera a soldier can carry around, til you hear that they paid 31 mill for 160 of them. http://hackaday.com/2013/02/05/military-steals-idea-of-anyone-who-ever-tied-a-cellphone-camera-to-quadcopter/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

New 3D gun clip design, nicnamed the Cuomo
Being in NY, I got a kick out of the name. The author designed and build a 30 round clip for an AR15. Given he used a commerical printer to print. Its still pretty neat that its out there. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130207-defense-distributed-unveils-new-3d-printed-gun-magazine-and-named-it-cuomo.html

$150 3D printed hand
This is cool, an open source project made a 3D printed hand (with motors and stuff too) for a kid for about $150 in material. This could lead to allot of changes in prosthetics (which are very expensive). Especially for … Continue reading

Xerox a good Cheap Stock

FDA approves robot doctor
Basically its one of those video conferencing robots that got the FDA seal of approval. This just makes me wonder how much its going to cost me to see a doc over video instead of in person now. http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/01/fda-approves-robot-doctor/
How to save money shopping on the net the lazy way
Nice article about how to find deals on the net for certain things you are looking for. I already knew about signing up for price alerts at amazon/newegg/etc. And have used camelcamelcamel in the past. Also have filtered email as … Continue reading
