Print out your own working mini crossbow

Neat “little” crossbow printed out from a 3D printer in one piece.  Its pretty small (about 3 inches long) and you are not going to kill anything with it.  But its a nice proof of concept http://hackaday.com/2013/03/11/one-piece-3d-printed-crossbow/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

TI has a prototype of a 3D mouse

Interesting a 3 dimensional mouse prototype for TI for the MSP….I wonder if the shield for the MSP will be $5 or under (would suck if the shield costs more than the CPU) http://www.engadget.com/2013/03/10/ti-launchpad-mouse/

Nice but overdone article about embedded systems and security

Nice article that goes on about how embedded systems are usually ignored for updates and security audits/patches.  Unfortunately this has been a problem for over a decade where everything from a router to a printer is installed, then forgotten (til … Continue reading

Use a USB TV tuner to listen in on weather balloons.

OK I did not know that there is so much stuff going on with weather balloons. or that you could sniff the traffic on them.  But apparently you can. http://hackaday.com/2013/01/12/listening-in-on-weather-balloons-with-rtl-sdr/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Spiderbot 3D printer launched

At only 2G’s.  Its a neat looking 3D printer, but….at that cost I could get a nice dual head.  But it would not look at cool as this one. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130307-spiderbot-delta-3d-printer-launched.html

Xerox Connectkey

Another interesting article about Xerox’s Connectkey offerings.  What is it?   Well to dumb it down, Xerox is basically connecting all its print/scan system together with software and apps. http://usmarketbuzz.com/xrx-xerox-corporation-nysexrx-developing-new-business-productivity-solutions-1202#
