Another simple hack for a kwikset lock

Wow that is easy, punch thru the back of the lock and presto, you can open it.  It only works with kwikset smartkey locks (built after 2007). http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2013/08/kwikset-smarkey-lock-vulns/

Getting root on a camera

Interesting tool called goPro GTFO, it was demo’ed at DEFCON this year and apparently can get root on a wireless home camera.  I haven’t played with it myself (not much docs out there yet on it). https://github.com/quine/GoProGTFO

Xerox Office Scanners could cause mis-scans of numbers

Interesting paper, basically the author found that if scanning with jpeg (JBIG) the compression could mess up a number or two so a 6 turns into an 8.  Solution, scan to PDF. http://www.dkriesel.com/en/blog/2013/0802_xerox-workcentres_are_switching_written_numbers_when_scanning&2
