Secrecy and the Generation Gap

I put this under software development as well since the article highlights issues that are with S.D. industry too.

The problem the article points out is todays “secrecy” is dependent on contractors and folks that know they no longer have a job for life if they do good work with xyz company/government agency.  Where in the 50’s – 80’s you could work one company for your entire life, and there was a pension/reward/etc at the end.  So with that, why would a person have a loyalty to xyz if there is no loyalty coming the other way.  Given the article points to government for this being the issue, the same could be said with Software Development where jobs constantly move overseas, or you get outdated in a few years and replaced, etc etc.  Oh Sorry I forgot the stagnent wages too.
