Another push to up the wiretap abilities of the Feds is on the books (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act). What does this mean? Basically they want backdoors in all encrypted communication products like Skype. Problem with this is it makes it a nice backdoor for others as well. And with so much info they can gather on the net already, do they need this? And what about opensource comm. software? Stuff that is overseas? Will other governments be OK with backdoors put in by the USA?
