Xerox gets 56 mill to be San Diego’s IT

Interesting since Xerox isn’t typically strong in the IT managment area. http://eon.businesswire.com/news/eon/20120801005156/en/Xerox/San-Diego/Network-Services

Finally someone in the Press caught on

Given its only the local Rochester NY rag.  Its still the first article I have seen that shows how Xerox is in a position to be the “managing services” company for all of the US healthcare. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20120805/OPINION02/308050009

The Car Kracker

Neat board that can add in many modern and fancy features to older cars.  I wonder if it will work with my scion  🙂 http://www.gadgetgangster.com/news/54/556

Mini office turret warefare with TI

Interesting application where some folks took the TI MSP430 and one of those thinkgeek usb turrets and automated it.  🙂 http://e2e.ti.com/group/msp430launchpad/m/project/664377.aspx

Make some custom speakers with PVC pipe

Not the first time I have seen custom speaker stands with PVC pipe, but first with clear pvc pipe and lights. http://makeprojects.com/Project/Sound-O-Light-Speakers/2464/1

Make a box with your CNC

Nice plugin to Inkscape that the author created to make a box with.  It provides the slots and bumps needed to keep the box secure.  Now if it only added in the screw holes too 🙂 http://www.keppel.demon.co.uk/111000/111000.html

A cheap homemade brake that doesn’t require welding

Good instructable that takes some angle iron to make a simple brake (thing to bend metal). http://cdn.instructables.com/FEC/RWZA/H4AG047C/FECRWZAH4AG047C.LARGE.jpg

Nice PC repair station

This is a nice build of a setup for a PC repair station.  I fix some of my neighbours computers and its always a pain to set up the system and then convert back. http://www.instructables.com/id/Cable-Management-for-PC-Repair-Station/

Making a solder pot

This is a tool I will build someday.  I have usually tinned wires by hand, but this would be so much easier (and cheaper). http://www.instructables.com/id/Quick-Easy-DIY-Solder-Pot/

Make your own Distiller

Interesting build on making your own distiller.  I don’t think I would try this (just easier to go down to the store) and I would be a little leery of the end results. http://www.instructables.com/id/Making-Your-Distiller/
