Website to upload your kids drawings, and get a 3D rendering
Cool idea, you scan in a picture your kids draw (2D) and the site will 3D it for you and print it out. Not sure on the costs yet (website must be getting hammered). http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130522-make-your-kids-drawings-come-alive-with-3d-printing.html

Another Bow made from Ski’s and 3D printer handle
Another nice ski to bow conversion. I may have to try this out myself sometime. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130518-diy-home-made-longbow-with-3d-printed-components.html

Print out your own shotgun slugs
This is cool, I can just imagine the custom slugs you can make…bit light thought compared to steel, but for low impact, these could be ideal. And a good way to prototype. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130520-3d-printed-bullets.html

New Printrbot (Simple) out
The $300 Printrbot simple made an appearance at Maker Faire this weekend. Looks like a nice design, not so sure how well it would work without a heated bed thought. http://blog.makezine.com/2013/05/19/printrbot-simple-debuts-at-maker-faire/

Nice homebrewed laser scanner
So you can scan in that object to print it out 🙂 Project looks simple enough, no so sure I can afford the camera being used. http://www.metaingegneria.com/scanner-laser-3d/

You want 3D gun designs, print them.
Article points out a good point, if you want to get the designs out there, print them out in a book and send them. That is the “loophole” around the issues with posting up the 3D printed design. This is … Continue reading

Sigh, I need this motor
I am looking for a “slow” low volt motor (hard to find these days). And looky here, someone is making one with a 3D printer. Now if I only had time to make 30 of these myself. Oh and the … Continue reading

You are out of filament switch
Nothing says “I am stupid” than when you run out of filament, and leave the machine running for another 2 hours. Here is a simple switch with a microswitch to alert you that you are out. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:83274
