Toolbox liner to organize tools on the cheap
I got a kick out of this. Using foam board to basically create holders for tools. If you are an tool org freak, this is a perfect solution for you. http://www.instructables.com/id/Toolbox-socketwrench-pliers-drawer-trays-on-the-ch/
Nice spray can mixer
Nice build for a mixer for a can of spray paint. I like the use of magnets to hold the can, and the geared motor to keep the thing from going superfast in shaking the can. My 2 cents, I … Continue reading
Opensource Medical Insturments
Interesting article, the author has build a stethoscope that costs $20 and can be printed out (vs $300 to buy one). This won’t fly in the US, but in 3rd world countries…. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/08/14/printed_stethoscope_cccamp You can find more on this and … Continue reading

Google now makes it easier for you to figure out if you should go Solar
Interesting, Google created a tool to look at your house from Google Earth images and figure out your solar potential. Down side, looks like its a work in progress (several addresses I put in didn’t come up). http://www.wired.com/2015/08/much-can-save-solar-panels-just-ask-google/

A bunch of hacks for wine corks
Nice article (video) on some different things you can use wine corks for. http://sploid.gizmodo.com/8-things-you-can-do-with-old-wine-corks-1724510821
Looking to show off your tech skills
Hackatons seem to be the way to do this now. Thought most of them are geared towards kids/college. There still is some interesting stuff you can pull from the article. I have not heard of hackaton.io for example. or devpost.com. … Continue reading

Setting up SteamOS in a VM
The article covers the general gist of running an OS in Virtualbox, but…has a couple of gotcha’s that are worth watching out for with SteamOS. I like how they say you should give it a min or 4 GB of … Continue reading
