Another Reason why I wish I had a shopbot
Under a $1 shelf brackets. These made out of what looks like 1 inch plywood. The design is pretty simple and you could even modify it to be prettier…if you have a CNC/shopbot to make them on. http://www.instructables.com/files/deriv/FGS/RNL0/HFD18KPA/FGSRNL0HFD18KPA.LARGE.jpg

Kickstarter project to create a 3D software package
Apparently a 3D software package that would be easy to use. Should be interesting to see if they pull it off. http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130417-doodle3d-sketching-tool-launched-on-kickstarter.html

Lux Research sees 3D printing hit 8 Bill in 2025
Actually 8.4 billion. That is a big chunk o change. Tablet for 3D printer controller
I was just thinking about this myself the other day. I was thinking about how nice it would be to use a Tablet to control a 3D printer/CNC instead of a dedicated PC/RPi/etc etc which would need an external monitor. … Continue reading

Get your prints off with Parchment Paper and tape
The current way to get prints to “stick” to the bed of a 3D printer is to add painters tape. Problem is getting the @#% tape off the bed can sometimes be a challenge. The author solves this by putting … Continue reading

Cheapest 3D printer yet
The Makibox is at $200 for the basic unit, partly assembled. Its specs are promising but I haven’t found an independent review yet. The $400 dollar unit is more interesting to me since it takes pellets and converts to filament, which it … Continue reading
