Make an air powered broom

Pretty clever hack where the author makes a T-shape broom with 1 inch PVC, puts holes in the bottom of it and uses it to sweep stuff around (oh its hitched up to his air compressor).  Figure about $15 in … Continue reading

Build a rock-tumbler to diffuse LEDs

This is too funny.  The author basically make a rock tumbler out of junk to frost some LEDs.  I can’t believe he used sand and water in his mixture (oh and 12 hours of tumbling).  Looks like without water worked … Continue reading

Making a Dowel Jig

Clever build.  I like the hole on top to “sight” in the dowel holes. http://workshop.lifehacker.com/make-an-accurate-dowel-jig-from-scrap-wood-1740234672

Pipe manual chainsaw

OK this is on the list to build.  Not so sure about using pipe thought, maybe something a bit easier like PVC to cut thru. http://www.instructables.com/id/Pipe-Handle-Manual-Chainsaw/?ALLSTEPS

Use a Saw-Zaw to Prune Trees

You can get a 9-12 inch pruning blade for your reciprocating saw and use it to prune trees.  Beats my handsaw….and …maybe I could use this for a christmas tree. http://www.todayshomeowner.com/video/using-a-reciprocating-saw-to-prune-tree-branches/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+danny-lipford+%28Today%27s+Homeowner+with+Danny+Lipford%29

Cheap wood clamps

Good idea for a simple wood clamp instead of buying a pipe clamp.  Just not as flexible as a pipe clamp. http://workshop.lifehacker.com/make-diy-wood-clamps-for-edge-banding-wide-countertops-1733316611

Poor Man’s hand router

I like this build.  The author makes a planer like thing with a chisel to make grooves in wood.  Clever Idea. http://workshop.lifehacker.com/use-a-chisel-to-make-a-handheld-woodworking-router-1732957767

Simple Dremel holder

Not a whole lot of work into this one, basically a pipe clamp, rubber, and a right angle with a C clamp.  Looks like $10 in materials to make. http://www.instructables.com/id/sumtonian-universal-dremel-table-clamp/

3D print some fake batteries to extend your project

OK this beats my solution of soldering directly to the battery terminals.  The author here simply places his fake shell batteries into the battery compartment, and they has wire leads to the battery replacement.  Why would you do this?  Well … Continue reading
