Print out a simple key holder paracord gizmo

Interesting gizmo.  The 3D printed part acts as a sleeve for a key, and can be wrapped with paracord.  Why?  Well good stuff to have in an emergency (kindof like duct tape). http://www.instructables.com/id/Paracord-3D-Printed-Key-Protector/

Hey look, Xerox is on on the tax scams like everyone else

Just goes to show how creative accounting can be.  Xerox posted no earnings for 2014, so they have no taxes to pay (actually negative earnings).  So….if that was real, why did all the exec’s get nice big bonuses? http://www.whec.com/news/xerox-named-list-companies-paid-no-income-tax/4069609/

Build a portable, adjustable Power Supply

I wasn’t even thinking about the portable bit of this build.  This is a nice simple adjustable power supply build with a readout for about …say $25 in parts on the high end. http://www.instructables.com/id/Portable-Adjustable-Mini-Powersupply/

Make a simple, cheap Aeroponic system

OK I like this build.  Get a free bucket, a cheap water fountain pump ($10), one of those misters, and those plant holder things with rocks, and nice simple grow bucket. http://www.instructables.com/id/5-Gallon-Bucket-Aeroponic-Plant-Cutting-Propagator/

Make your own solderless magnetic connectors

Nifty build.  Me…I think I will just solder on the wires to a connector.  Still if I wanted to make a custom connector, maybe put an LED inside it for feedback…this would be the way to go. http://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-DIY-Magnetic-JackPlug-for-Any-Purpose-No-/

Viper, now Zerynth,is Python for Embedded

I stumbled on this by accident.  Apparently Zerynth/Viper is an embedded systems, well IoT oriented, version of Python.  I don’t know much more on it but I am bookmarking it for future looksee. Viper, the Python IoT Development Suite, is … Continue reading

Hey, this is an interesting business for 3D printing

Modifying nerf guns…never thought of that one.  Apparently business is good too. http://makezine.com/2016/03/02/how-modding-nerf-blasters-became-3d-printing-business/

Hey Xerox Employees, your CEO is too nice to you

Reading between the lines, that seems to be the way she thinks.  Gee I guess this is why her glassdoor rating as a CEO is always at the bottom. http://www.businessinsider.com/xerox-ceo-ursula-burns-explains-why-companies-can-be-too-nice-2016-3

Great, maybe we should look at retraining what we have first?

I love these articles that talk about the “shortage” in STEM.  I remember a good article that pointed out the claims for “shortage” have been around since the late 1800s.  Anyways the article goes on and one about educating the … Continue reading
