Ha, a simple power outage light
OK this is on my list of stuff to build. Why? Well if you are in the basement and the lights go out. It stinks. This would be a good cheap alternative to a “buy it” one. http://makezine.com/projects/emergency-lighting-system/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=%24{feed}&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+%24{makezineonline}+%28%24{MAKE}%29&utm_content=%24{GoogleReader}
How to build a thermocoupler amplifier
Nice video on how to build the thermocoupler amplifier to measure temperature. Not sure if I would do this (maybe for a 3D printer?). http://hackaday.com/2015/04/06/how-to-build-a-thermocouple-amplifier/
Really nice looking drop down workbench
Really nice looking fold down, wall mounted bench for the garage. Most of these builds do not look this fancy. http://www.ikeahackers.net/2015/04/rock-gerton-table-top-drop-workbench.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Ikeahacker+%28ikeahacker%29
Build a doorbell listener with an arduino
Actually with a Moteino (arduino like) that has wireless support. This way it can talk to a bigger system, like an RPi to handle the data. I also like the authors garage door variant too. http://lowpowerlab.com/blog/2015/04/13/doorbell-moteino/

Android now going to run ATMS
I have to say I am shocked it took this long to get a linux based ATM. As far as I know, most ATM’s run windows, many running Windows XP. Android/Linux is a cheaper route, could be maintained (OS wise) … Continue reading

How to get out off handcuffs
Good video from the King of Random on how to get out (and how easy) of handcuffs. http://feeds.gawker.com/~r/lifehacker/vip/~3/yyDyevHuJAs/this-video-shows-you-how-to-escape-handcuffs-using-only-1697847173

Xerox CEO gives advise on how to rise in power
Her advice: 1) get a good internship, 2) speak up, 3) gain and retain peoples trust. Hum…I wonder if she reads the reviews on her at glassdoor.com. You get a contradiction about those 3 items and what the CEO allows … Continue reading

Interesting article where it looks like its costing the county more to have Xerox do the work than if they just did it in-house. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/county-657357-employees-xerox.html
