Put an old webcam on your RPi for security cam

The author is basically doing the same thing as you can with an RPi and its camera module.  But instead of buying the module, he just took an old USB webcam and used that.  Good idea overall. http://www.instructables.com/id/Old-PC-Accessories-Raspberry-PI-DoorCam-surveillan/

Simple mousetrap car with legos

Nice build where the author takes a mouse trap, string, and legos and makes a simple car from it.  Wish she had included a video of the car working. http://www.instructables.com/id/Mousetrap-Car-7/

It looks like the author used an ATiny with some mag reader heads to read metro cards, then spit that data back out when going thru the subway station.  Thats on way to get on the train for free. http://makezine.com/2015/03/18/free-ticket-ride-illegal-metro-card-duplicator/
