Adding MAME support to Raspberry Pi
One of the more common hacks for the Raspberry Pi is a game controller. This post goes over converting an MAME board to work with Raspberry Pi. Its an interesting post as the author talks about integrating old tech (PS/2) … Continue reading

Magnetic switch covers
Nice idea, but my 2 cents, for $24 its is bit pricey. I could get a cheap plastic cover at Home Depot for under a buck, and just glue an harddrive magnet to the back. http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20130116/magnetic-light-switch-covers/
Apps for your Ubuntu Server
I have broken down and added a Linux category now. Since I know so much about it I figured its about time. Anyways, interesting article that goes over several apps to use to manage a linux Ubuntu server. Most of … Continue reading

Guess NY didn’t want to give Xerox any more handouts
Xerox/ACS announced they are closing there Utica NY office, about 150 folks that do data processing. I have noticed that it seems low end services companies that keep things in the US have a tendency to open/close offices like woodchucks … Continue reading

Navy blasts drone with Laser Gun
Nice video of the Navy’s newest toy that we know about where they use a laser cannon to shoot down a drone. http://gizmodo.com/5994074/watch-a-navy-laser-gun-blast-a-drone-right-out-of-the-sky
Microsoft going to 2-step authentication

Turn a lamp into a wireless speaker
This is the best design I have seen yet for a wireless speaker into an existing lamp. BUT at $150 a pop, I’ll stick to wiring in my own for now. http://the-gadgeteer.com/2013/04/09/turn-most-any-lamp-into-a-wireless-speaker/

Bike Wheel Dryer
Well an air dryer. Nice write-up on how to make one (thought its pretty obvious). Wish the author used something else as an example of what to dry. http://www.instructables.com/id/Bike-Wheel-Laundry-Airer/
Xerox President in Syracuse NY on Transition
I haven’t figured this one out yet, a Pres. from Xerox gave a talk about transforming Syracuse NY for the future. But Xerox doesn’t really have a presence in SYR…so…should I be reading something between the lines here? http://www.cnycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=882326
