OwnCloud, opensource for a private cloud storage

After wondering about cheaper, and more in control ways of putting data in the cloud, I stumbled on an opensource project to do just that, called owncloud.  It looks pretty simple to use, and there are instructions on how to set it up with an RPi.  It looks like it does versioning on the files too.  Downside, you need your own domain to sync with it (which I have 🙂 ). Currently I use a pogoplug but I have been leery of it and its a bit on the slow side, this maybe a worthwhile alternative to look at.
