Build and LED Umbrella

Reminds me of a certain movie.  Nice build (and bright too). http://www.instructables.com/id/Ultimate-LED-Market-Umbrella-Light/

Another nice build for hand based chainsaw

The author took an old chainsaw chain, cut it, pulled a few pins out to bolt it to a couple of straps, add duct tape and bam.  Done. http://www.instructables.com/id/Handpowered-Chainsaw/

A simple flamethrower

A rubber band, a bic light, and a can of axe and you have a simple flamethrower.  Nice way for a quick weapon.   http://www.instructables.com/id/Easy-Flamethrower-2/

Build a wave tank generator

Great way to show kids how waves affect shapes, or show waves in general.  Looks liek a pretty simple build too. http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Wave-Generator-Tank/

A Fume Extractor with parts from a PC

OK the author not only is using a fan from a PC, but the case section from it to mount the fan. Good idea.  Cheaper than building one too.  He did 3D print out legs for it, but I think … Continue reading

Make a cheap AC line detector

Build one for under $5.  Never realized how simple the A/C detector circuits where.  My 2 cents…I have one built into my stud finder.  So I should be OK. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-an-AC-Line-Detector/

A cheap CNC build

OK I know there are alot of these out there.  What makes this different is the lead screw and brass nuts used are under $10.  I haven’t looked at getting that stuff from banggood.com before.  But I may this time.  … Continue reading

Converting a CNC to use arduinos

There are alot of  old CNC’s out there that this maybe a good way to “upgrade” them.  In the 1990’s CNC for metalworking where coming of age, problem was most of them never got updates, so they are still running … Continue reading

A ruler reloading crossbow

I got a kick out of this build since the author used 2 metal rulers for the spring bit of the build. http://www.instructables.com/id/Crossbow-9/

Make an opensource pellet cutter for filament

I like this build, the author basically feeds leftover filament, or string from bottle, into the build and its shreds the material into pellets that could then be reconverted into filament.  Me….I am thinking of an easier solution/build. http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Open-Source-Multi-Material-CutterPellet/
