LinuxCNC Probing
I was reading this article during lunch about using HAL in linuxCNC and probing. Why? Well its a good way to level the table, or get the height a part is, zeroing out axis’s. etc etc. http://7xcnc.com/software/probing/

Add a LINBUS (car) Injector with Arduino
I’ve heard of CAN bus, but not LIN before. Apparently its the protocol used to to talk to buttons, lights, and switches the user uses. http://hackaday.com/2014/04/19/a-lin-bus-signal-injector/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29 sourcecode https://github.com/zapta/linbus/tree/master/injector

Need to find a handiman?
Stumbled on this while looking for pool people. Its a site that maps out contractors, etc in your area for home improvement work. http://porch.com/

Upgrading a Power Supply for a cheap CNC
I have heard on forums in the past that the Chinese CNC 3020 have OK hardware, but the electronics and power supply stink. The author rebuilt the powersupply to use more robust ones. These CNC’s run between 500-800 bucks, so … Continue reading

The cheap 3D printer (DIY)
I have seen mini CNC’s made from floppy and CD drives in the past, first time I have seen a 3D printer. Its a bit funny but if you are on a tight budget, I guess this will do. The … Continue reading

Rebuilding my CNC, Part 5 SUCCESS
Success! LinuxCNC seems to work just fine, I slowed down my y-axis as I did before so the gantry doesn’t whobble so much. But I cut the example LinuxCNC in foamboard. What next? Time to learn PyCAM

EGYDuino, a one sided arduino
Nice build of an arduino board that has only one sided circuit and thru-hole. Makes it easy to build yourself (edge a card that is) and its sized to take a standard arduino shield. http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/mcu/033/index.html
$200 and you get a laser engraver
Only if I had $200, nice project build of a laser engraver for $200 that can fit on your existing hobby CNC/3D printer. Good idea, seems a little pricey for the parts, but its all put together for you. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/l-cheapo-laser-cutter-attachment … Continue reading

Cheap effective portable fan
Ha, this is a good idea. Basically take one of those PC fans you have kicking around. Attach a battery pack to it, and bam, portable fan. Looking the the cells the author is using (pulled from old laptops). I can … Continue reading
Poor man’s 3D scanner
I had to laugh at this one, the author converted a bike wheel to spin the image around while the camera takes pictures. Good idea, and simple (thought I would put a motor on the wheel and tie the camera … Continue reading
