Xerox/IEEE donate 35K for Lego /Robotics
Nice gessture, not sure where IEEE got the cash since they are always crying poor to their members. http://www.kyforward.com/our-schools/2013/01/14/xerox-ieee-lexington-donate-35000-for-robotics-kits-for-fcps-elementary-students/

Filabot sounds like its finally shipping
I think the kickstarter project was …gee a year ago…? Anyways its finally going out. It will be interesting to see how much the non-kickstarter version will cost. And how well this will work. http://techcrunch.com/2013/01/13/the-upcycling-filabot-turns-regular-plastic-scrap-into-3d-printer-filament/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Techcrunch+%28TechCrunch%29

Display tells you what com port you are using
If this was a 10-20 dollar item, I would buy it. Doing tinkering with serial ports to USB is a pain. And then trying to figure out which com port you are on…ugh. No kit for this solution, but the … Continue reading
Xerox CEO to receive an Award for Graphics/Printing
I was a bit surprised Xerox got a prize in the “technology” aspect of their business since the concentration now is service oriented. But I was more surprised by the cost to attend the event. $750 PER PLATE! http://whattheythink.com/news/61791-nyu-prism-luncheon-honor-xerox-chairman-ceo-ursula-burns/

Xerox CFO leaves to go to Apple
Lots of articles out about this move (and the good for Apple). Not too much about how it affects Xerox. The guy wasn’t around long either (1-2 years?). Wonder why the move. In other words, was he looking for another … Continue reading

Add glow to your car
I like this write-up since I look at my poor truck and its lack of lighting. This could be a cheaper and easier alternative for adding lights to a car, but….there could be legal (street legal) issues, still expensive (LED … Continue reading

PVC stand for Fliament spool
Pretty simple looking and easy to build. I would think it would cost about 5-6 dollars in parts to make. http://www.instructables.com/id/Low-Cost-3D-Printer-Filament-Spool-Stand/

Cool looking Christmas Decoration with a 3D printer
Yes I know, Christmas is over, but its not too late to think about next year. Either way this is a nice looking decoration, worth trying it out on your 3D printer. http://www.instructables.com/id/Technologically-Advanced-Christmas-Decorations/

Make a mousetrap gun
Basically has the power of a bb-gun….well maybe a bit less. But still a neat idea. http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-a-Mousetrap-into-a-Powerful-Handgun/

Cheap Bi-Directional Antenna
I have seen some interesting cheap antennas, but this one takes the cake…maybe in the tupperware it uses too. 🙂 Anyways the range they say they get on it is pretty amazing. http://www.howtogeek.com/129990/dirt-cheap-bi-directional-antenna-wirelessly-extends-your-lan/
