A homemade drill press vice

I like this build, the author made his own drill press vice (and fence/table too if you think about it).  I am looking at it and wondering how I can make my own adjustments to it. http://www.instructables.com/id/Drill-Press-Vice/?ALLSTEPS

Make an arduino based laser rangfinder

Interesting project, not much hardware work involved.  Down side, the !@#$# laser module is $300 dollars.  Bit out of my price range. http://hackaday.com/2014/07/01/pew-pew-an-arduino-based-laser-rangefinder/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+hackaday%2FLgoM+%28Hack+a+Day%29

Make a circle cutting jig for a router in 20 minutes

A nice simple build for using a scrap piece of plywood for making circles with a router.  The only thing I noticed is there is no “center hole” to mount the jig with.  Note, you see it in the video… … Continue reading

Make a mini forge

And by mini, I mean tiny.   The author makes this from 1 fire brick.  I guess its going to run you under $20 to make.  Nice build overall.  Why would you do this?  Well to make knifes of course. http://www.instructables.com/id/Mini-Forge/?ALLSTEPS

Make your phone be an Oscillosope and function generator

Apparently there are apps for Android and Apple you can use for this.  The author uses about $20 in parts to build the control box and then that goes into the phone for the apps to control.  Cool build.  Could … Continue reading

How to weld aluminum without a welder

You basically just heat up the metal and then drag the rod down where you want to “weld”.  This works, but seems like a slow and painful way to do it. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Weld-Aluminum-Without-a-Welder/

Make a Bic Brander

OK you don’t make it, you design it and the author makes it.  It looks like after you design it, it will cost $25 ish to make.  Cool Idea and good way for the author to promote his services. http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-Custom-Bic-Brander/

Make an interior trunk rack for your car

I like this, basically the author attached a piece of plywood to the trunk lid, and then put in attachements to that to hold everything.  Since in my car everything just rolls around in the back, this would be a … Continue reading
