Corner making jig

This is useful to help with building a template jig to make corners on wood and a router table.  I have been building up my own home brewed tools lately and this will get onto the list as well. http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Corner-Radius-Templates/ … Continue reading

Interesting Microscope arm, but it could be cheaper

Nice build for a microscope arm, but the author could have gone cheaper, maybe used an arm from and old desk lamp (you know one with springs on it).  And maybe re-purpose an old manual microscope to more.  Still good … Continue reading

Interesting forge build

Bigger than the coffee can build the author did originally.  This build actually looks pretty easy to do, well minus the bit getting the tank and cutting it.  The use of thermal blanket stuff is much easier than the mud … Continue reading

Crazy drill to make curved holes

The author combined a flex shaft to a hole bit and put them on a custom curved handle jig to make curved holes in a 4×4 post.  Pretty clever. http://sploid.gizmodo.com/how-to-drill-a-curved-hole-1786526632

Arc lighter to mini plasma cutter

Interesting build.  Author only does it for paper thought.  I wonder if it could be converted to be a bit stronger. Mini Plasma Cutter

Solar powered Pottery wheel on a bike frame

I won’t build this but I definitely got a kick out of it.  The author basically uses the frame to hold the assembly together (and sit).  Clever idea overall. http://www.instructables.com/id/Solar-Powered-Bike-Frame-Pottery-Wheel/

Make your own plastic grinder

Neat build for a grinder for plastic to pellets (for 3D printing.  But….I would do the planer approach (much easier) and it took the author 40+ hours to build this one. http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printer-Part-Recycling-Grinder/

Cool plywood hot wire foam cutter with CNC

Pretty much the Instructable includes the files you need to print the frame out with your CNC.  Its a nice looking build and worth doing. http://www.instructables.com/id/Plywood-Hot-Wire-Foam-Cutter/

Nice storage rack for shovels on wheels

Now the author built this to be a swing out shelf for the shovels.  I am thinking it would be better to use 4 casters and have it fully portable. http://www.instructables.com/id/Long-Handled-Swinging-Tool-Rack/
