Android powered printer

Samsung (not Xerox) has an office based set (10 of them) printers that are run on the Android OS.  Looks pretty slick, but I can’t tell if the UI is a separate controller from the actual printer.  In other words … Continue reading

Yup, i want a giant light staff too

Pretty crazy project, the  author built a large LED light staff that can pulse, change colors, etc etc.  Building one is a bit sketch in directions, but it sounds like he is not done yet. http://makezine.com/2014/09/04/what-all-larpers-now-need-an-eight-foot-led-light-staff/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=%24%7Bfeed%7D&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+%24%7Bmakezineonline%7D+%28%24%7BMAKE%7D%29&utm_content=%24%7BGoogleReader%7D http://hackaday.io/project/137-Light-Staff%20

Android on x86

Interesting article on a quasi distro for the x86 for Android.  The author questions the use for this.  Me, its sometimes easier to find old intel systems to tinker with android on, or put it in a VM (yes I … Continue reading

Nice RPi Arcade build

For a coffee table that is.  My 2 cents, I would have used an existing table if I could.  Another nice build of this style is listed below http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-Arcade-Table/ Others: http://www.instructables.com/id/Coffee-Table-Pi/ http://www.instructables.com/id/MAME-gaming-table-with-Raspberry-Pi/

The dog silencer

For $100 bucks, it better do the job.  This gizmo will supposedly send ultrasound waves out when a dog is barking to stop them.  Us humans won’t hear it, but they will.  It supposedly can go 300 feet in range, … Continue reading

Xerox: if you dont’ get a contract with FL, have employees sue

Xerox has an employee suing Florida over a child support contract that Xerox did not win.  This just seems really odd to me. http://www.wral.com/lawsuit-state-held-secret-meetings-lost-records/13948691/

Xerox speed cameras found to be really messed up

This is too funny, not only were the cameras recording speeding that wasn’t speeding, but was counting cars that didn’t exist on the road.  I would love to know how Xerox tests these cameras before they get installed. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/sun-investigates/bal-howard-co-police-say-xerox-has-fixed-speed-camera-data-errors-20140828,0,4012258.story

Outgoing VP at Xerox gets a small fine

Well small for him.  If you look at the cash he made last year (4.2 million), I don’t think he is hurting from this fine.  Anyways the VP was ACS exec/owner that did alot of shady accounting, and got caught, … Continue reading
