The poor person Electrostytic Rust Remover
Iron bar, bucket, and arm&hammer…oh and a car battery charger and you are good to go. http://www.instructables.com/id/Electrolytic-Rust-Removal-aka-Magic/
Add a tripod mount to anything
Basically take an existing mount and epoxy it to it. I like using the 1/4 finger nuts and gluing them on. http://lifehacker.com/five-easy-ways-to-add-a-1-4-tripod-mount-to-anything-1771059085
Make your own battery charger
The author build this to save on cash on buying a charger at $20 and up. I see about $12 in material costs…so not so sure if its worth it. Plus side is its a variable voltage charger. http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-RC-Charger/
Make a mallet out of…glue sticks?
Interesting idea, the author build a rubber mallet with glue sticks and a metal rod. My 2 cents, I would use wood for the handle, and I think I could just melt plastic jugs down for the rubber bit. Still … Continue reading
Make a long reach socket wrench
Pretty funny, take a PVC pipe and basically heat it up to size. http://lifehacker.com/loosen-nuts-on-really-long-bolts-with-a-diy-pvc-socket-1770154123
Simple wire stripper for a $1
Well assuming you can get the pencil sharpener and cloths pin for a buck. If you don’t mind buying in bulk, you can get alot more and a cheaper price. Anyways pretty simple build. And would be more accurate at … Continue reading
Pallet + pegboard = nice organizer
OK the pallet is the “base” which leaves space for the pegboard on the wall. And you can store rakes and stuff inside that. Totally cool. http://lifehacker.com/make-a-tool-organizer-for-your-garage-with-a-pallet-and-1769915613
I have to hand it to Ryobi for clever builds
I do own alot of Ryobi cordless tools, mostly cause of the battery works on all of them. This garage door opener is pretty neat too. Not so sure I will drop 250 for it thought… http://gizmodo.com/this-modular-garage-door-opener-has-more-features-than-1769116418

Quick portable Styrofoam Cutter
Nice build for a simple portable foam cutter. The author uses a 9 volt battery with .2mm nichrome resistor wire. http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Hot-Wire-Styro-Slicer-Foam-Cutter/
Wrench won’t fit a small bolt, put some coin in it.
OK you really want to use the correct size wrench. But in a pinch, this is a good workaround. http://lifehacker.com/cram-coins-between-a-wrench-and-a-bolt-when-you-dont-ha-1768252961
